What fabric should Barnaby wear to the snow?
This week we have been learning about different fabrics. We looked at them and thought about how they felt.
Next we thought about how we could find out what fabric would be the best for Barnaby to wear to the snow.
We put some hot water in milk bottles and then wrapped them in different fabrics: wool, polar fleece, silk and cotton.
What we thought: we all wrote down on a piece of paper what we thought would be the warmest. Five thought wool, five thought polar fleece, three thought silk, two thought that wool and polar fleece would be the same.
We took the temperature every 10 minutes to find out what fabric kept the water the warmest.
We found that polar fleece kept the water the warmest and wool was a close second. So Barnaby should wear clothes made out of polar fleece or wool.
